A Flexible, Future Ready Learning Community for Virtually Enrolled Students (Grades 3–7)

A dynamic and adaptable virtual learning environment designed for students in grades 3–7, where flexibility meets structure to support every learner’s unique pace and style.

A New Way to Support Virtual Learners

Families across our community are increasingly choosing virtual public schooling for its flexibility, safety, and personalization—yet many parents quickly discover that learning from home can be isolating, inconsistent, and difficult to sustain longterm. The Online Schooling Learning Center was created to bridge that gap.

By partnering with families who have chosen (and will choose) the online public school

option, our center helps ensure that students have both the flexibility they need and the

academic support necessary to succeed. This collaboration strengthens students’

confidence, enhances learning outcomes, and maximizes the value of Rockdale

County’s virtual education programs.

Our Center is a dedicated, professionally staffed learning environment designed

specifically for students enrolled in public schools who complete their coursework

virtually. We provide far more than supervision. We deliver a complete learning ecosystem that supports academic excellence, social and emotional growth, and future‑ready skill development.

    • Structured academic days aligned with public virtual school schedules

    • High‑quality digital infrastructure, including reliable high‑speed internet, secure devices, and learning platforms

    • Experienced educators and learning coaches who guide students through coursework, reinforce understanding, and build independent learning habits

But what truly sets our Center apart is the holistic experience.

  • In addition to strong academic support, students participate in:

    • Social and Emotional Learning (SEL): Daily opportunities to build self‑awareness, resilience, empathy, and responsible decision‑making

    • Collaboration and Communication: Structured group work, discussions, and peer projects that mirror real‑world teamwork

    • Creativity and Critical Thinking: Project‑based learning that challenges students to analyze, design, and problem‑solve beyond worksheets and screens

Our Center has a proven history of helping students develop the four essential 21st‑century skills—critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication—which are often missing from at‑home virtual learning.

  • Students don’t just consume digital content—they create with it. Our program integrates hands‑on STEM learning, including:

    • Robotics and engineering challenges

    • Coding and computational thinking

    • Applied math and science projects connected to real‑world problems

These experiences help students see the relevance of their academic work while building confidence in high‑demand career pathways.

  • Families are not spectators—they are partners. The Center emphasizes:

    •  Consistent communication with parents

    • Family workshops and engagement events

    • A supportive learning community where students and families feel known and valued

  • For families hesitant about both traditional public and private schools, the Online Schooling Learning Center offers a balanced solution:

    • Lower cost than private school tuition

    • Reduced need for full‑time childcare, tutoring, and enrichment programs

    • Improved academic consistency, reducing costly remediation later

By consolidating academic support, enrichment, and supervision into one program, families often experience meaningful cost savings—while their children gain stability and support.

  • Our program is intentionally designed for upper elementary and middle school learners—students who need structure, social connection, and guidance as academic expectations increase.

  • Virtual learning doesn’t have to mean limited opportunity. At the Virtual Learning Center, students gain the skills, confidence, and support they need—not just to succeed academically today, but to thrive in future careers and lifelong learning.

Flexible. Supportive. Future-focused. The Virtual Learning Center is where your child belongs.

Statement on Participation in Rockdale County’s Free Online Public School
Option

In Rockdale County, Georgia, the Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) system offers a full-time virtual learning option for students in elementary (Grade 4-5), middle, and high school through its Rockdale Virtual Elementary and Rockdale Virtual Campus programs. These options allow families to educate their children online while remaining enrolled in the public school system.

While the total number of families currently enrolled in these fully online programs is a smaller portion of the overall district enrollment (with RCPS serving over 14,000 students district-wide), existing data from the 2024-25 school year shows that dozens of students were participating in the virtual schools as part of the district’s offerings, with Rockdale Virtual Campus reporting enrollment figures in its records.

Families choose the free online public school option in Rockdale County for a variety of reasons, including:

• Flexible learning schedules that let students balance family needs or extracurricular commitments.

• A personalized learning environment that can better fit a child’s pace or learning style, especially for students who may not thrive in a traditional classroom setting.

• Concerns about health, safety, or social fit in physical classrooms — factors that have led many Georgia families toward virtual schooling options statewide.

Despite the benefits of virtual learning, many students still need additional academic support once enrolled. Online learning often requires strong time management, self-motivation, and digital literacy skills that not all students develop automatically.

Research and feedback from families nationwide suggest that students in online public schooling benefit from supportive learning environments — whether through tutoring, structured study time, or community learning centers — to maintain progress and stay engaged.

That’s why the Virtual Learning Center plays a critical role in supporting Rockdale County families:

• Providing targeted academic assistance where students may struggle with virtual classes.

• Offering structured tutoring and mentoring that keeps students on track.

• Helping families navigate online-learning tools, technology, and independent study strategies.

By partnering with families who have chosen (and will choose) the online public school option, our center helps ensure that students have both the flexibility they need and the academic support necessary to succeed. This collaboration strengthens students’ confidence, enhances learning outcomes, and maximizes the value of Rockdale County’s virtual education programs.
